Edmonton Oilers goalie prospect Tyler Bunz has announced via his twitter page that he will participate at the 2014 Douglas Webber Cup in Australia with Team Canada.

Bunz was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the 5th round (121st overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. Considered one of the best Canadian goalies his age during his time in the WHL, Bunz has yet to prove himself at the professional level, but at 22, there is still time to turn that around. In 2012-2013, Bunz made one AHL appearance with the Oilers affiliate Oklahoma City and spent the bulk of his first pro season with the ECHL’s Stockton Thunder. This season, Bunz went 5-2-3 in 13 starts for the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL, while recording a 2-1-1 record with the Barons in limited action.

Currently, Bunz is the only goalie to be confirmed for either team. With the tournament beginning on July 11th, you can expect to see more names added to the roster in the next coming days. To take a look at the rosters to date, check out what Canada and USA have announced so far.
